Client Tax & Service Charge Rules Setup

The general Tax & Service Charge effects of a transaction are a (combined) function of the interaction of:

 

 

This section of the Document discusses the Client Tax & Service Charge Rules Setups.

 

From the Client Administrations & Setups Menu (Quick-Jump CDM), select Client Tax & Service Charge Setup:

 

 

Below is a screen of several previously-defined Client Tax & Service Charge Rules:

 

 

Below is a screen depicting the 'Standard' Tax & Service Charge Rule (STANDA):

 

 

Note that the 'Standard' Rule shown here for Client-related Tax & Service Charge involves only one Company Tax & Service Charge Group -- namely 'Standard'.

Shown below is the related Company Tax & Service Charge Rule:

 

 

The screen below shows the details of the 'Standard' Rule:

 

 

 

The 'Charge Qualification Detail' references the Tax/ServiceCharge Group that was already be set up under Company Tax & Service Charge Rules -- but designates specifically which Tax-ServiceCharge Components are 'active' within this Client Tax & Service Charge Rule.

Note that in this example, County Tax, State Tax, and Service Charge are 'active' -- and Special Tip Service Charge is 'not active'.

 


 

The screen below shows an example of a 'Non-Taxable' Rule configuration (NO TAX):

 

 

As in the first example, the 'Standard' Company Tax & Service Charge Group is referenced -- however, this time the 'active' Components are different:

 

 

Note that 'County Tax' and 'State Tax' are 'Not Active' -- but the 'Service Charge' remains 'Active'

 


 

The example below illustrates a 'New Member - Special Tax' (NEW) that involves two distinctly different Company Tax & Service Charge Rules:
