
Job Classes are sub-classifications within Departments... used for Schedule Availability, Timekeeping, and Payroll purposes.

Below is an example of the Job Class "Wait Staff" set up within the Dining Room Section:

A21 Module: The Abacus 21 Application Module to which the Job-Class is affiliated.
Department: The Department under which the Job-Class is defined (within the Application-Module).
External Payroll (Department): The 3rd-Party Payroll Department Code to which the Job-Class is to be aligned. Optional.

Staff Scheduling Rule - Choice of this Job Class's Sign-In Stipulations:
Staff Application Password Required (to be recognized by the Scheduling Module).
Staff Application Password Not Required (to be recognized by the Scheduling Module).
Warn if no Staff Application Password was set up (for the Scheduling Module).
Timekeeping Parameters - Indicate all that pertain to this Job-Class (for TimeClock Sign-Out in the Timekeeping Module):
Piecework Indicator: Piecework count is to be entered.
Tip Entry Indicator: Tips (Gratuities) are to be entered.
