For more than the past 100 years, several generations of our Family have been involved in the coffee world in the generous lands of the Mountains of Chanchamayo, Peru. With our thorough experience in processing coffee to yield a First Class Product – coupled with the fact that Peruvian Special Coffees are having an increasingly more recognized and renowned performance in the international market year by year -- and cognizant of the opportunity that the potential signing of a Free Trade Agreement between the United States and Peru will represent, it is our intent to establish a Branch of our family Company, "Sociedad de Productos Signori, Sac.", in The United States of America in order to bring our Coffee products to the US market.
The increasing demand of Special Coffees in the world is an opportunity for coffee producers and exporters in Peru -- and the noticeable growth of Coffee Shops, Cafeterias, and Small Coffee Roasteries in the developed countries shows that the demand for Special Coffees in the world is currently growing… and can be expected to continue to grow in the future. According to statistics, more than 45% of the Coffee consumption in the US market is related to Special Coffees: Gourmet, Unique Origin Coffees, and Organic.
Special Coffees reach prices of $20 to $100 per quintal over the prices in the New York Exchange Stock – and hence they became in an important alternative for Peruvian agribusiness, since it is a high profitability economic activity and an alternative to undesirable ones such as the cultivation of coca. Furthermore, the Coffee agriculture & business is being considered as the main supplementary activity for Government Plans against the Drug Trafficking – as evidenced by the "Peruvian National Program for Alternative Development" and the "DeVida-Contradrogas Program" supported by an US Institution. |
