This feature has the capability of utilizing up to forty (40) User-defined fields -- that are 'static' in nature (namely they are designed to be used for information (per-Client/Individual) that does not change much -- and that are not intended to be used in dynamic searches.
The User-defined fields are divided into four types (10 each):
String fields
Numeric fields
Amount fields
Date fields
The String fields are alphanumeric (text) fields.
Each String field can be up to 45-characters.
The Numeric fields are integer (whole number) fields.
Each Numeric field can be up to 10-digits
The Amount fields are 2-decimal numeric fields.
Each Amount field can be up to 7-digits to the left of the decimal, and 2-digits to the right.
The Date fields are MM/DD/YYYY fields.
Years entered as YY are assumed to be of the current Century.
These Other (static) fields are accessed via the 'Other' Tab of Client Maintenance -- and are split into two 'sub-tabs' of information: Other-1 and Other-2.
When one the 'Other-1' Tab, hit the 'Other-2' Button to toggle to Other-2 -- and vice versa.
The Other-1 Tab contains:
User-defined String fields 1-5
User-defined Numeric fields 1-5
User-defined Amount fields 1-5
User-defined Date fields 1-5
The Other-2 Tab contains:
User-defined String fields 6-10
User-defined Numeric fields 6-10
User-defined Amount fields 6-10
User-defined Date fields 6-10
The setups for the Other (static) fields Label Prompts is done by the System Administrator in Company Setup -- under Client User Labels 1 (for the first set of five, for Other-1) and Client User Labels 2 (for the second of five, for Other-2).
The screen below illustrates how these fields look as they are presented in Client Maintenance under the 'Other' Tab:
