Monthly Golf Tip from the Pro:
IMPORTANT INSIGHTS A golf club does not move until the golfer's body parts move first. Some approaches for helping golfers improve are telling golfers "how to" move their bodies. But I have found that giving golfers body thoughts can slow progress. On the other hand, after golfers become aware of where a golf club should be aligned through impact, learning is always accelerated.

The Abu Dhabi Championship has always been one of those tournaments where the best players just seem to figure it out. Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry (both guys who've won this thing before) went out and shot matching 8-under 64s to grab a share of the lead with three other players.
Aim and alignment in golf is no easy task - especially for amateur golfers who tend to just focus on a general landing area rather than something very specific as a target. During a recent on-course golf lesson, I experienced the difference firsthand, with a golf coach telling me to stop being so generic and instead become much more intentional. While that may be tricky for some players - or just outright uncomfortable because it adds more performance anxiety - the next best thing is to at least ensure you're aimed in the general direction of your target.
