From the Tee
This par five is an excellent Second hole because it builds your play momentum. Yet, it is the medium to short par five on the course, less threatening to most players. The row of existing trees on the right masks a small creek. After crossing the natural stone Bridge the fairway widens to 35 yards in the tee shot landing area, and the elevation here allows a good look at the green, creating the first decision of the day. A good drive even from the optional tees which require a forced water carry, will put the longer hitters in a position to get home: 240 yards off the tee and 210 yards with the three wood will clear the creek which crosses in front of the green - make sure you carry it high enough to clear the stone wall wrapping the entire front of the green. For the timid, the second landing area is very wide and inviting, but with a sucker punch. A bunker along the right side of the second landing area tells the player to stay close. And shots played too safely left will leave an approach that must contend with a fairly significant tree left front of the green. The putting surface is a double green with the par five, Fifth hole, with more trees on the left and nice mounds on the right.
