Utilization of these types of 'private label cards' is an excellent (and attractive) way to increase Sales, promote Client loyalty, and accelerate your marketing opportunities. Your Customers -- whether they be Members, Guests, Hotel patrons, Walk-In's etc. can utilize a single card that allows them to pay for goods and services, benefit from specialized discounts, and participate in targeted loyalty-rewards programs.
Functionality within these applications involves a combination of:
- Issuance (creation of the Card 'existence')
- Activation (with pre-defined or on-the-fly variable amounts)
- Inquiry (into 'balance' on the Card)
- Application of a transaction to the Card:
- Redemption toward a POS Transaction
- Replenishment with more funds or points
- Transaction Amount & Balance remaining can be printed on Receipt
- De-Activation (when balance is down to zero, when it expires, when it is lost etc.)
- And, of course, centralized Reporting
Unlike the Bank-sponsored Loyalty cards, Abacus 21's approach does not limit the conceptual or physical functionality of your intended Card campaign. With a Bank card, there is typically a very costly-lengthly development cycle, limited functionality, expensive transaction fees, no Point-of-Sale integration, limited support -- and, you are 'tied' to the Bank.
With Abacus 21's approach, your Private-Label Card can be completely integrating into Abacus 21's Point-of-Sale, Reservations, and Check-In Systems -- inclusive of being able to 'build value' based on the accumulation of other monetary, statistical, or demographic information -- with only a single swipe of the card.
Your business can offer foster increased sales by offering discounts at specific Sales Outlets, on specific Items (or kinds) of Merchandise or Services -- operating similarly or differently across multiple Properties that are Enterprise-wide. And, since you control the spending profiles, restrictions, and benefits of each and every card, you can customize your promotional program to capitalize on your Clientele's spending habits, encourage repeat business, and accomplish your sales-incentive goals.
This cards can be coupled with Abacus 21's Membership and Guest-of-Member Tracking systems to simultaneous monitor and control facility access and usage.
Examples of what you can accomplish include:
- Define a Card's spending profile and usage limits/benefits via 'Rules-based' operation scripts.
- Facilitate the initial authorization activate against a classical Credit Card -- and automatically default to that Credit Card for making incremental fixed-amount charges as the Card is used.
- Allow the Card to be 're-fueled' -- via all permitted Tenderment method -- straight from POS.

In all cases it is necessary to re-verify compliance the specifics of the Interface in the Client's particular situation -- and, it will be necessary for the Client to acquire the appropriate interface software (and in some cases hardware) links and cooperation from the respective 3rd-party Card Management Processors.
